Can You Feel Good With An Anxiety Disorder?
I like to keep in touch with the other anxiety blogs, and this post (Feeling Good About Feeling Good, Anxiety Guru) just reminded me of something I put together a while back. In the post over at the Anxiety Guru blog, it talks about actually “enjoying” those times when you actually feel good, or have a better-than-average moment in your day.
When you have an anxiety disorder, it’s so easy to get into a place in your head where you can kinda “miss” those moments that most other people would take a moment to stop and enjoy.
But the good news is, I’ve found that if you make it a habit to stay conscious of your mood, your thoughts, and your actions, then you can spot these moments much more easily. and the great thing about that is that these moments, when you notice them and welcome them, have a really surprising mood-lifting effect.
Good thoughts promote more good thoughts. Positive thinking promotes more positive thinking. So keep yourself open to those “better” moments, even if they’re few and far between.
They’ll do you and your anxiety disorder good!
